God doesn’t always remove obstacles

God doesn’t always remove obstacles

You see that obstacle in your way? It may not ever get moved, but God will prepare you and strengthen you to get through it.

When going out in a storm, we buy protective gear; gloves, hat, scarf, coat, thermals, boots to protect our feet, etc. Just as we put on protective gear from the elements, we also must seek God to protect us from the storms of life we face. We are his children and when we seek him and ask, he strengthens us to push through and he reveals the way to overcome all obstacles.

On the other side of the red sea, God provided for the Israelites. Through miracles he provided them with; manna (bread) that rained down from heaven, quail (meat) to cook and eat and water which sprung from a rock. He brought them to a place where they could only rely on him to supply for their needs. He showed them that he was the one who could provide for, deliver and free them from the wilderness.

“I have heard the Israelites’ complaints. Now tell them, ‘In the evening you will have meat to eat, and in the morning you will have all the bread you want. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God.’” That evening vast numbers of quail flew in and covered the camp. And the next morning the area around the camp was wet with dew. When the dew evaporated, a flaky substance as fine as frost blanketed the ground. The Israelites were puzzled when they saw it. “What is it?” they asked each other. They had no idea what it was. And Moses told them, “It is the food the Lord has given you to eat.” - Exodus 16:12-15 NLT

When facing an obstacle, do you pray it away? Or do you seek to learn the reason you’re being faced with the storm? Let’s not be so quick to ask for obstacles to be removed. Instead let’s ask God to strengthen us so that we may push through, grow and overcome them. Let’s allow ourselves to see God’s power by allowing him to show up the way he promised he would.

“Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” - John 8:32

With God, breakthrough and freedom is possible.

We must spend time with him in prayer and in worship so that we may be strengthened, renew our hope and persevere. As our Lord walks us through our storms he will protect us, teach us, and grow us.

Father God,

Thank you for your provision. Father when I have doubts remind me of the way you delivered the Israelites from Egypt. Remind me that you will do the same for me and that you will always protect and provide. Lord, I place my faith and my hope in you. Help us not to rush through our life storms and onstage and to seek to learn the lesson when we are in the valley. Father I know that you sometimes allow us to be in uncomfortable places, so remind us to trust that you are with us in the hard times and that you will provide and get us all through.

In Jesus name I pray, Amen

Growing with you,

Sandy

Through your eyes Lord

Through your eyes Lord

“I will give thanks and praise to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.” - Psalms 139:14 AMP

God created us in his image. Each one of us is fearfully and wonderfully made.

God put it on my heart to speak to those who are feeling as if they are worthless today. Maybe you have made a mistake or feel like you ruined a relationship with a friend or family member or messed up a situation at work. I’ve been there. Remember today that you are human, this means you are imperfect.

God did not create you to be perfect.

We all make mistakes and we all mess up. But God knows the heart, he knows us like no other can, and sees the struggle within, and he loves us still. His love for us is endless.

“so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through your faith. And may you, having been [deeply] rooted and [securely] grounded in love, be fully capable of comprehending with all the saints (God’s people) the width and length and height and depth of His love [fully experiencing that amazing, endless love]; and [that you may come] to know [practically, through personal experience] the love of Christ which far surpasses [mere] knowledge [without experience], that you may be filled up [throughout your being] to all the fullness of God [so that you may have the richest experience of God’s presence in your lives, completely filled and flooded with God Himself].”- Ephesians 3:17-19 AMP

There is no condemnation in Christ. This means there is no need to hold onto guilt or shame. You are washed clean by the blood of Jesus, all you need to do is ask for his forgiveness.

No matter what your situation is, there is no suffering or difficulty, that can ever separate you from God’s love. Jesus already paid your price.

“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” - Romans 8:38-39

So if you had a rough day, if you let yourself or someone you care for down and feel at your worst, know that you are still his Beloved. He adores and treasures you and is waiting for you to forgive yourself and see yourself the way he sees you.

You may carry with you feelings of shame or unworthiness due to things others have said about you or due to rejection you experienced from a parent, or loved one. You may have been told you have no worth and will never be loved. But God says otherwise, he loves you and wants to free you of this thinking.

“(...) having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end. - John 13:1
“Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” - Psalms 139:16 NIV

God is calling you to do mighty things. There will be times you feel less than or defeated. But, you must be sure you do not stay there dwelling in that emotion for long. When you feel as if you’re at your worst, get up and declare that you are strong and are capable.

For it is when we are weak that God shows us his strength.

“Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.” - 2 Corinthians‬ ‭12:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Declare this with me today: Father, You make no mistakes. I know that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I declare that all lies spoken against me have no hold. For it is how you see me that matters. You have created me with a purpose and a calling and I will not allow the lies of the enemy to blind me from seeing just how deeply you love me. Today, I choose to see myself through your eyes Lord. I see the goodness and value that you placed within me. I forgive myself and love myself today because you created me in your image. I know that the best is yet to come and I will choose to see myself through your eyes. I rejoice in your love today. In Jesus name, Amen.

Sandy

You Are Chosen

You Are Chosen

The world seems like it is in chaos now. Tragedy surrounds us every where you look.

When everywhere around is loud and chaotic we sometimes question our purposes.

How can one small voice help?

There are moments I feel helpless and wonder how can someone like me with no “talents” make a difference? But then I am reminded that is a lie from the enemy.

We all have a purpose and one isn’t greater than the other. We are not called to compare ourselves to others. We must obey what GOD places in our hearts and trust that the planting of seeds matters.

Share who he is to YOU!!

You are CHOSEN to make him known!!!

You are CHOSEN to inspire the world to hunger for God!

You are CHOSEN to share of his unconditional love.

You are CHOSEN to be a light in the darkness.

You are CHOSEN to remind others that there is hope!

Don’t doubt your purpose. Share who Christ is to YOU & make him Known! The world needs him!!

Father,

We thank you for being such a loving God. We thank you for your son, our savior, who gave his life to save us. The world is in chaos right now father and we need you. Remind us that we are all chosen and all have a purpose. Remind us that no purpose is small and that we are all needed to share who your are and what you have done for us. Call us Lord into obedience and speak through us so that we reach all who are lost and crying out to be saved. Use us to reach the world and spread the Gospel across nations!

In Jesus name, we pray Amen.

It’s time to Launch Your Purpose

It’s time to Launch Your Purpose

It was 2017, and I sat in there in my school of ministry class at my church surrounded by individuals who inspired me and kept me encouraged.  I listened attentively as some of them shared their personal experiences, I admired both their boldness and transparency.  Why couldn’t I be like them and step out in faith? I wished I could do what they were doing and share all the raw details of my life. But was my story even worth telling? How could all I’ve been through inspire anyone when I was still struggling with my weaknesses?

I have never been one to speak in front of crowds.  I connect better with individuals one on one or in small group settings.  I find it hard to instantly share my thoughts without first processing them.  Sometimes, I feel like this is a flaw, because by staying silent I am missing out on opportunities to connect.  I disappoint myself due to this, but I am aware that I can’t be the only on with this struggle.

For those of us who are introverts or ambiverts, speaking to an entire class or large group can be quite uncomfortable. Why is it that some people can share so easily, while others struggle to find words verbally? I took some time to think about this.

I believe that I held back from engaging in class discussions at ministry school because I felt as though I didn’t have any wisdom to offer to this particular group.  In other instances, I looked at people in conversation around me and just simply couldn’t relate to their discussions. If I couldn’t relate, how was I to contribute to their conversations?

When I started out on my personal journey of growth, I knew it would one day mean being open to allowing God to use me.  But I battled with feeling ready.

I am blessed to have many people of faith in my life and love hearing the many ways that God has moved in their lives.  In my ministry class, I was surrounded by brothers and sisters who, in my opinion, clearly had a calling on their lives.  They seemed to be natural born leaders and somehow I don’t see those qualities within myself.

Do you ever struggle with believing in yourself like I have? Perhaps we make it harder than it has to be.  I know for me personally, I have to try to get to a point where I overcome my fears. Talking in a group may not ever be one of my strong suits, but know I can’t allow it to cause me to feel less than.

Do you ever look at those around you and feel less than?  As you can see I relate to that, but today I want to remind both you & myself that we are just as special as the person next to us who we keep comparing ourselves to.  We are all gifted in different ways, so take some time to discover what your personal or spiritual gifts are and launch into using them.

Launching into your purpose and calling may not come easy, but when you step out in faith God will put all the pieces you need in your path in his perfect timing. My blog isn’t well known and I don’t have a huge following, but I have the peace of knowing that I was obedient to his calling and that my words will reach & uplift the very people God so desires them to reach.

I have come to realize that God will cause a fire to burn deep within until you surrender and commit to Christ, allowing him to take over. That is how I started my blogging journey. He would tug at my heart as I lay in bed late at night and tell me, it’s time to begin Sandy. His voice became louder and louder until I put my fear aside and just began. I had to stop comparing my journey to the journey of others.

If God kept calling me to write, I needed to be reminded that he is only asking for faith as small as a mustard seed. I had to step out in faith and obey. It was time to stop comparing myself to others.

“Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.” Galatians‬ ‭6:4-5‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Jesus desires for us to stop denying our ability to answer the calling within and accept that he is our leader. We are called to follow him and allow him to lead. When God is calling you to do something that you ignore, the Holy Spirit will speak louder and allow that calling to burn within until you have no choice but to obey.

He is calling ME and YOU! It may not always come in the way you expect it to because he reveals it his way, but recognize that your calling comes as a force you can’t ignore. It will wake you up in the middle of the night until you take action. When you stop ignoring the whisper in your ear and the tugging on your heart, that is when you truly will begin to be launched into your purpose. Are you ready to surrender?

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Father God,

Thank you for the gifts that you alone have placed in each one of your children. You are our creator, remind us that you created each of us with a purpose to fulfill. Whenever we find ourselves comparing our journey to others, shift our thinking Oh God and help us to believe in ourselves. Father, light a fire in our souls that will burn us to the point that we must move. Father, launch us into our purposes. Give us the obedience to answer our callings even when we are afraid and unsure of what it is exactly you desire for us to do or say.

In Jesus name, we come against the spirit of fear and cast out all anxiety that is holding us back from walking into our purposes. We want to be your vessel. Use us Lord, even in our brokenness. For we know that you will put all the pieces you need in place in your perfect timing. Your plans are to give us a future and a hope. Have your way Father. May we surrender all to you today & every day to come.

In Jesus mighty name we pray, Amen!

Growing with you,

Sandy
